‘We Are Confident That God Will See Us Through’, OBA Says

The gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, (OBA) has reiterated  the confidence that the successes recorded so far in the ongoing campaigns of his party will continue till it records victory in the next year’s elections.
The lawmaker, popularly known as OBA,  made this remark when he worshipped at the Living Faith Church, 1 Factory Road, Ikot Ekpene, on Sunday 20th November, 2022.
“We came to the God of Shiloh. As a campaign movement, we have absolute trust and confidence in God alone…We know no other God…We are very confident that what God has started, he will be faithful to the very end. Our prayer is, let the will of God be done”, he prayed.
OBA said they were thankful that, so far, it has been the grace of God seeing the campaign team through since the beginning.
“We came here to honor the one who deserves honour. This is the first time since the present democracy that started in 1999 that a governorship campaign is going from ward – to – ward. We thank God for taking us through over 18 local government areas without any hitch”, he said.
He vowed that after victory at next year’s polls, he will return to the same church to praise God. “We make a vow that we will come back to thank Him for his faithfulness”, he promised.
Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Chukwuemeka Uwakwe preaching on the theme: “Pathways to Sanctification” admonished Christians to avoid being tempted to fall into sin, since it can separate one from God.
Reading from the book of Judges16:25, the cleric recalled how Sampson’s relationship with God was scuttled because of Delilah.
“Sin will rob you of your glorious vision. Sin robbed some in the bible who lost God’s favour. God is not far from us, sin should not separate us from him. Get set for repentance”, he urged.
Special prayers were offered for Senator Bassey Albert Akpan and other candidates of the party in next year’s elections, as well as members of the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council.
