Uyo Senatorial District Young Progressives Party’s (YPP) candidate for Senate, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Usenobong Akpabio’s towering record of achievements have dwarfed his opponents records, in no small measure.
Especially, the facts available at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA), where his major opponent is currently serving, no, I mean occupying the position of Speaker.
No wonder, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey’s media team found it very difficult to list his achievements in Uruan State Constituency against the towering record of Usenobong Akpabio, during their campaigns.
The other day at the Speaker’s campaign at Mbiaya Uruan, North 1 ward, a village in his Constituency, his media reported that at the rally, he listed projects he has done in Northern and Central Uruan, but curiously searching for the video of his message, it was found that the media lied.
He had nothing to list as Constituency Project.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has no single project to show in Northern and Central Uruan, nay the whole of Uruan nation. He knows it.
His media know that the Speaker has no tangible Constituency Project to lay claim upon, against the towering record of Usenobong Akpabio.Â
For the interest of Uruan nation, and the entire Uyo Senatorial District, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey should be advised to vote for YPP’S candidate, Usenobong Akpabio in recognition of his towering record.
Uruan and the entire Uyo Senatorial District can not afford to send Aniekan Bassey to Senate, when a good material as Usenobong Akpabio is on the ballot, with his towering record of Legislative accomplishments.
Juxtapose the 2 candidates, think deeply about their antecedents, and let your conscience choose whom should represent Uyo Senatorial District at the Red Chamber.
Usenobong Akpabio has a better theoretical background, he is skilled in Legislative matters, as could be proven by his towering records. He has a higher social intelligence, which is reflected by his rich social network and contacts.
Usenobong Akpabio is President emeritus of the prestigious Uyo Club 1935, he is currently the Captain of Ibom Golf Resort, etc.
He has associated with high networth individuals and organisations over time, and understands how to lobby to get things done, and advocate to attract benefits to his constituents.
Usenobong’s large exposures in life may have accounted for his towering record of achievements, even while representing Uruan State Constituency.
Even as captain of Ibom Golf Resort, he has Projects to show. Ask Nwaniba people about his towering record.
If anyone should ask an objective minded Uruan son or daughter about whom Uruan should send to the Red Chamber, the answer would be Usenobong Akpabio.
Hence, I wish to appeal to other local government areas that make up Uyo Senatorial District, to please align with Uruan’s right footed candidate, Usenobong Akpabio of YPP, and vote YPP.
It is not a political party that would represent Uyo Senatorial District but the quality of individual we send to the Red Chamber. This is no time for political party sentiments.
Thank God the two major candidates have been (one is still) in public service. It is so easy for a choice to be made between a towering record and dwarf record, whom would you rather choose.
Rt. Hon. (Barr) Usenobong Akpabio’s towering record is in public glare. Ask for it at Ndon Ebom Uruan, Adadia, Ishiet, Ikpa Uruan, infact, in all the political wards in Uruan.
There is no doubt in the minds of sincere fellows, compatriots, and objective minded individuals that Usenobong Akpabio touched lives in Uruan State Constituency, during his tenure, in AKHA.
Today, Uruan State Constituency and beyond are lamenting in anguish the waste of the position of Speaker on Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey. No Constituency projects to show, no impactful State legislation to benefit Akwa Ibom State to show.
Then the question on my mind is that, if the Speaker could not perform credibly in a State Legislature, is it in National Assembly that he would perform?
I am certain, the young man, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey would be lost, peradventure he finds himself in the National Assembly, God forbid.
National Assembly is a place where federated states of Nigeria send their best; former Governors, former Ministers, outspoken and great minds, etc to represent their interest.
Why should Uyo Senatorial District consider Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey against the towering record of Usenobong Akpabio. Would it be to reward low performance?
Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey may have been fit, if Uyo Senatorial District have no choice better than him. But in this case, Uyo Senatorial District has Rt. Hon. (Barr) Usenobong Akpabio to send.
Then how did PDP arrive at considering the Speaker, except to meet some mundane interest, without depth of thoughts for the interest of Uyo Senatorial District.
These are some of the more reasons, Uyo Senatorial District electorates should arise and say NO to a low performer in the choices laid forth for Senate position. Let Uyo Senatorial District be true, and sustain the high level representation at the Senate, which had always been the order.
Someone like this writer, how can I explain to my children that it was Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey that I voted to represent me against a candidate of towering record, in the person of Barrister Usenobong Akpabio. How would my children feel about me?
This choice shouldn’t be about party loyalty, or any form of sentiments, but the spirit of patriotism to promote the interest of Uyo Senatorial District.
If it were to be a football match competition, Aniekan Bassey, is good enough to be on the bench, as reserve, while we send in Usenobong Akpabio to play for our team to win.
In this 2023 Election, let us consider the verifiable towering record of Usenobong Akpabio, and make him our choice.
As Uyo Senatorial District electorates stand in that voting cubicle or space to cast your vote, please vote for the interest of development in Uyo Senatorial District. Vote YPP for Senate.
Let electorates exercise patience, keep the ballot right side up, look for the second to the last box, the logo of a hand holding leaf (leaves) is the box of YPP.
Use your tiniest finger to dip in the ink provided, and place that finger in the centre of the box opposite that logo. Be very careful that the ink do not touch the lines. Then cast your ballot.
When that is done, you would have voted for Usenobong Akpabio, the man with the towering record of accomplishments.
