The high acceptability of Rt. Hon. (Barr) Usenobong Akpabio as depicted in the ongoing ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinion polls in the social media is a true reflection of the Peoples desire to have him as the Senator to represent Uyo Senatorial District.
This has gone to show that the opinion leaders and the entire electorates of Uyo Senatorial District are highly politically conscious to separate party sentiments in making the right choice, as indicated in the massive votes for Usenobong in the ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinion polls
The choice of Usenobong Akpabio by the majority of constituents of Uyo Senatorial District did not come to this writer by surprise; because of the antecedence set by Rt. Hon. (Barr) Usenobong Akpabio, which has made it easy for discerning minds to know where to put their support.
Senate seat is not for the inexperienced, ‘Press Shy’, or a weak leader, who can not identify resources available to him and legislate for productivity. Someone that could not create impact on the welfare of constituents or for economic benefits of his constituents.
These are as exemplified by the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, who, in his capacity as the number 3 citizen of Akwa Ibom State, has made no impact on his Constituency, Uruan State Constituency.
Electorates of Uyo Senatorial District have told themselves the truth. And are all out to vote for Usenobong Akpabio of YPP, without party sentiments. The ongoing results of ‘Nigerians Decide’ polls have confirmed this position.
Uyo Senatorial District needs a person in the mould of the intelligent and bold Senator Effiong Bob, the outspoken, witty and intelligent Senator Ita Enang, and the creative, audacious, and popular Senator Bassey Albert Akpan.
I, Marvel Joseph Essien, managing director of Spring Resources Consulting, a human resources and organisation development consultant, have worked in the highest echelon for national and international organisations in the fast moving consumer goods industry, and is eminently eligible to objectively assess who is more competent.
Hence, I have assessed the candidates and do hereby testify that Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio is the man of the moment. Uyo Senatorial District electorates verdict, as ongoing in ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinion polls in the social media on the YPP candidate is absolutely plausible.
I also know that without sentiments, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey should not have up to ten (10) votes. One vote from his brother, and few others, who are not able to discern the high stakes in a Senatorial Seat.
Even members of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly of Uyo Senatorial District extraction, in their honour, should know that Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, would ‘swallow’ our dear Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey.
Senate position is not for persons with shallow ideas of petty selective welfare jamboree program, like ‘Rahab said Yes’ (am not sure what the program is called) as currently run by the number 3 Citizen.
Even roads in his Constituency are totally deplorable, but without a mention by the law maker, except to make social excuses for his ‘masters’.
Recently, I guess, because of upcoming Election, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey suddenly remembered Atakpo Market in Northern Uruan.
We commend him for this effort at painting Atakpo Market, even though the roads in the whole of Northern Uruan is not in a state any person in relevant government position should go for campaign, for reason of shame.
However, the Atakpo Market project is far better than planting billboards; insensitive to the facts of his lack of visible or meaningful Constituency projects in Uruan nation, except for billboards, and exhibiting divisive, as well as discriminatory, vindictive tendencies in his representation.
Maybe these attributes represent his Constituency projects, who knows.
On the other hand, his opposing candidate, Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio, during his tenure in the same Legislative Chamber, even as ordinary member, had made marks of Constituency Projects in every Ward in Uruan State Constituency, some Wards got more than two projects.
Is that the brand of candidate Rt Hon. Aniekan Bassey is opposed in an Election of a higher worth?
It is even alleged that the number 3 citizen of Akwa Ibom State is laying claims erroneously to construction of State Roads, like Mbak Issiet Road, etc, as his Constituency project, or him being instrumental to projects of the likes;
If these rumours are true, then these are the heights of ignorance of his scope or knowledge of expected performance.
After almost 8 years of representation, nothing to show. Yet, he wants Senate.
Hence, I appeal again to electorates of Uyo Senatorial District to uphold their stand on ‘Nigerians Decide’ polls and distance their votes from the PDP’S Candidate, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, because Uruan State Constituency, which he is currently representing, is going through a lot.
Uruan State Constituency has no voice in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for the past, almost, 8 years.
Example, where is the Mexican Cows that were supposed to come to Uruan? Yet we have a Legislative representative that should have asked questions to authority or explain to Uruan nation the status. Where is his voice in this regard?
What does Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey want in Senate? With this poor performance in a State Assembly. ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinions polls, where he comes a distant 3rd have spoken.
Electorates would maintain that position on 25th February, 2023, by voting the right candidate, Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio of YPP.
It is even rumoured that the Akwa Hatchery in Mbiaya Uruan has been allegedly sold to persons suspected to be the preferred of government under the legislative watch of our dear representative, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, if true, this is against the interest of Uruan nation.
If the number 3 citizen can not, convincingly, keep watch of the interest of a Constituency of one local government area, is it that of 9 Local Government Areas that he would represent?
A District consisting of the State Capital and other famous local government should not be represented by someone who can not hold his own in a home of familiar faces and culture, as constituted in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Therefore, it is in the overall interest of Uyo Senatorial District, and the entire people of Akwa Ibom State to support competency personified by Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio of YPP.
This appeal is not about party loyalty, but about the interest of Uyo Senatorial District. Let’s maintain the outcome of ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinion polls, where Usenobong is leading convincingly, by going out enmass to vote YPP for USD Senate on 25th February, 2023.
I appeal to every political party in Akwa Ibom State to come together for the right choice, without party sentiments or loyalty to any one man who attempts to play godfather for Uyo Senatorial District.
It should be Uyo for Uyo choice. No one man should choose a wrong candidate or impose incompetency for Uyo Senatorial District.
Senate is a serious business. Electorates should please treat it as such a serious business.
I am a bona-fide son of Uruan, a royal descendant of Nung Obong, Mbiaya. Those in contest are my loving brothers.
But I do proclaim my preference for Usenobong because he is matured, experienced, straightforward, and with a sound theoretical background, with technical knowledge in law making.
Usenobong served distinctively, outstandingly as a two term Lawmaker and have practiced Law, professionally, for over 30 years. He is qualified and competent to represent Uyo Senatorial District, in a manner that would make us proud.
Yes. Usenobong Akpabio made Uruan State Constituency proud, and is positioned to make Uyo Senatorial District proud with his capacity for effective representation.
I have taken readers time (pardon me) to interject introduction of my self in this write up, to give credence and credibility to my humble opinion on assessment of the candidates for Uyo Senatorial District Senate seat.
My opinion is verifiable, such that anyone could access relevant information on the candidates and form his/her opinion independently.
Uyo Senatorial District should not make the mistake of fielding their ‘5th 11 (fifth eleven as in selection of best football team for competition) But follow their analytical minds to choose the right candidate, as they have already done in ‘Nigerians Decide’ polls.
Uyo Senatorial District should please put their best foot forward in this age and time. Uruan State Constituency made a mistake, which I don’t wish for Uyo Senatorial District.
This is the mind and opinion of majority of the sons and daughters of Uruan, nay Uyo Senatorial District, and also in line with the outcome of ‘Nigerians Decide’ opinion polls.
Usenobong Akpabio of YPP is the leading candidate, as confirmed by ‘Nigerians Decide’ online opinion polls. Go and verify.
