Born on the 2nd day of April, 1977 to the family of Otuekong/Mrs. Joseph Nyong Okon of Ikot Asua Village in Nsit Atai LGA of Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Cosmas Joseph Okon has demonstrated rare preparedness in all spheres of infrence to execute leadership roles.
He earned a National Diploma in Data Processing and Information technology from the Institute of computer Science and Business Studies, Akwa Ibom State.
Barr. Cosmas Joseph Okon holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Uyo and has been admitted to the Nigerian Bar to practice as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with proficiency in Dispute Resolution having been certified as a specialist(DRS).
His Master’s Degree in International Relations is in view.
Mr. Cosmas has consummate experience in service having served as Legal Adviser to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nsit Atai Local Government Area and the Special Legislative Assistant to the Nsit Atai State Constituency Office, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
He is also the Zonal Coordinator of the Community Development Service (CDS) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG, in His Presence Zone) and a Minister of the Gospel.
As part of his humanitarian services, Barr. Cosmas Joseph Okon has taken up a lot of cases for indigenes on Pro Bono and has secured the attendant release of numerous detainees at the Nigerian Correctional Center.
During the 2019 elections, he defended the mandate of the PDP at various tribunals and successfully obtained restraining orders that preserved the people’s mandate.
He has also embarked on numerous empowerment programmes which has re-enacted the economic relevance, advancement and development of his people especially the youths.
Barr. Cosmas Joseph Okon is greatly defined by his character which is rooted and exhibited in his behavioural and professional competencies. He is committed, result oriented, pays attention to details, teachable, easily adapts, great sense of empathy, diligent and honest.
