University of Uyo 26th Matriculation Ceremony: 8,416 Students Matriculated

University of Uyo has formally admitted 8,416 students to commence academic programmes for the 2018/2019 session, according to University of Uyo 26th Matriculation ceremony records.
In a record breakdown, 5,845 are fulltime undergraduate students, 254 for postgraduate diploma, 962 masters degree students while 255 doctorate degree students.
 However, in the part time category, 600 are admitted for undergraduate programmes, 88 postgraduate diploma, 39  masters degree students, 322 for diploma, 40 for certificates and 11 sandwich students, respectively.

The students were admitted into the 12 faculties in the university, including the Faculty of Agriculture, Arts, Business Administration, Clinical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Law, Pharmacy, Science and Social Sciences as well as School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies and Postgraduate School.
Statistically, out of the 5,845 fulltime undergraduates, 2862 are males, while 2983 are females.
The University of Uyo 26th Matriculation ceremony which took place at the University’s Town Campus, Ikpa Road, was presided by the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Enefiok Essien.
The University of Uyo 26th Matriculation ceremony witnessed academia from all walks of life , University of Uyo community, political class both within and outside Akwa Ibom State, parents and guardians as well as other guests that graces the occasion.

Speaking at University of Uyo 26th matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Enefiok Essien congratulated matriculating students on their success through the various screening exercises as more than thirty five thousand candidates sought admission into University of Uyo but they happened to be among the successful ones.

He urged them to make full use of the golden opportunity for a secured future.

Prof. Essien adviced the students to promptly and regularly attend all lectures, adding that the University of Uyo Library is equipped with both hard and e-learning facilities for enhancement of learning and reserch.

The VC also charged them to be studious and take all the academic activities serious to be able to come out as one of the selected eighteen (18) students out of others on the University University of Uyo Honours Roll.The Vice Chancellor made it known to the fresh students that the aim and purpose of University of Uyo is to give them a rounded education that will equip them to conquer the world.
