The Clement Isong Foundation Boost Health Care In Akwa Ibom With Equipment Worth 3Million Naira.
Equipment donated to the two hospitals include: ten beds, ten pillows, ten packets of face mask, ten packet of hand gloves, ten drip stand among other things.
The gesture, according to the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees of The Clement Isong Foundation and wife of the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and Cross River State, Mrs. Nne Isong was part of the foundation’s quest for Global Collaboration for Qualitative Empowerment and in line with the core objective which is Community Health Sustainability Scheme (CHESS).
Other priorities of the foundation include Poverty Alleviation, Youth and Gender Initiative (PAYGI) and investment in quality Education.

Isong, while sympathizing with the patients on their health condition, equally encouraged them to put their trust in God who she said was always present to heal all ailments.
Presenting the equipment to the management of QIC Leprosy hospital, in Etinan, one of the board members, Mr Ubong Isong said the donations were made after carrying out need assessment and discovered that the two hospitals had need of the equipment.
He urged them to accept the items and make good use of them to better the lives of the patients, while pledging to look into other needs of the hospital as contained in their request, said the foundation would partner them to meet their needs.
Isong expressed the hope that the equipment donated to the two hospitals would go a long way to meeting their needs and contribute to boosting health care service delivery.
Receiving the equipment, the medical superintendent, General Hospital, Ukpum Abak, Dr Anthony Umana thanked The Clement Isong foundation on behalf of the management and staff of the hospital, Hospital Management Board and the ministry of health.
Umana, who said, “we are delighted and honoured to receive the items and appreciate the erstwhile first family for the donation and pray God to bless them”, added that the gesture would complement the efforts of government to providing for the hospital.

The medical superintendent stressed the need for the foundation to look into assisting indigent patients who he said were unable to pay their bills after being discharged.
Umana pledged to make good use of the equipment and relay the good news to the ministry of health.
On his part, the medical superintendent of QIC Leprosy hospital, Dr Jeremiah Okoro, expressed gratitude to God for touching the heart of The Clement Isong Foundation to consider visiting them to donate the equipment and lauded the NGO for their labour of love.
Okoro, described the gesture as an act of love and kindness to the less-privileged individuals in the society and prayed God to bless them.
The patients were full of praises to the NGO for considering them in their scheme of things, not minding the difficult terrain they navigated to get to the premises of the health facility.
High point of the event was appreciation song rendered by the patients.
