The Clement Isong Foundation Donates Equipment To Health Facilities In AKS

The Clement Isong foundation (TCIF) has visited two health facilities in Akwa  Ibom State and donated hospital equipment worth 3,795,000 to boost health care delivery service in the state.
General Hospital, Ukpum in Abak Local Government Area and Qua Iboe Church (QIC) Leprosy Hospital, Ekpene Obom, Etinan Local Government Area are the beneficiaries of the kind gesture of the Non Governmental Organization, The Clement Isong foundation (TCIF).

The Clement Isong Foundation Boost Health Care In Akwa Ibom With Equipment Worth 3Million Naira.

Equipment donated to the two hospitals include: ten beds, ten pillows, ten packets of face mask, ten packet of hand gloves, ten drip stand among other things.

The gesture, according to the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees of The Clement Isong Foundation and wife of the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and Cross River State, Mrs. Nne Isong was part of the foundation’s quest for Global Collaboration for Qualitative Empowerment and in line with the core objective which is  Community Health Sustainability Scheme (CHESS).

Other priorities of the foundation include Poverty Alleviation, Youth and Gender Initiative (PAYGI) and investment in quality Education.

General hospital, Ukpum Abak – A Beneficiary of The Clement Isong Foundation’s Healthcare Boost

Presenting the equipment to the medical superintendent of General hospital, Ukpum Abak, the Vice Chairman lauded  the medical personnel for devoting their lives to the service of humanity and prayed God to bless them for accepting to save the lives of other people during the period of corona virus pandemic.
She charged the management of the hospital to make judicious use of the equipment for the well-being of the patients while pledging the resolve of the foundation to continually contribute its quota to touching the lives of people in the society.

Again – Qua Iboe Church Leprosy Hospital  – Etinan Benefits From The Clement Isong Foundation’s Donations to Hospitals

At Qua Iboe Church Leprosy Hospital, the Vice Chairman of the board who observed that it was humane to touch the lives of the vulnerable people like patients at the hospital, said      The Clement Isong Foundation  thought it wise to continue from where the Europeans  stopped by donating to the hospital.

Isong, while sympathizing with the patients on their health condition, equally encouraged them to put their trust in God who she said was always present to heal all ailments.

Presenting the equipment to the management of QIC Leprosy hospital, in Etinan, one of the board members, Mr Ubong Isong said the donations were made after carrying out need assessment and discovered that the two hospitals had need of the equipment.

He urged them to accept the items and make good use of them to better the lives of the patients, while pledging to look into  other needs of the hospital as contained in their request, said the foundation would partner  them to meet their needs.

Isong expressed the hope that the equipment donated to the two hospitals would go a long way to meeting their needs and contribute to boosting health care service delivery.

Receiving the equipment, the medical superintendent, General Hospital, Ukpum Abak, Dr Anthony Umana thanked The Clement Isong foundation on behalf of the management and staff of the hospital, Hospital Management Board and the ministry of health.

Umana, who said, “we are delighted and honoured to receive the items and appreciate the erstwhile first family for the donation and pray God to bless them”, added that the gesture would complement the efforts of government to providing for the hospital.

He disclosed that since his assumption of duties, that was the first time NGO came visiting, adding that it was part of achievement of the management.

The medical superintendent stressed the need for the foundation to look into assisting indigent patients who he said were unable to pay their bills after being discharged.
Umana pledged to make good use of the equipment and relay the good news to the ministry of health.

On his part,  the medical superintendent of QIC Leprosy hospital, Dr Jeremiah Okoro, expressed gratitude to God for touching the heart of The Clement  Isong Foundation to consider visiting them to donate the equipment and lauded the NGO for their labour of love.

Okoro, described the gesture as an act of love and kindness to the less-privileged individuals in the society and prayed God to bless them.

He however tendered specific request before the foundation and solicited their support to enable them meet some of their needs.

The patients were full of praises to the NGO for considering them in their scheme of things, not minding the difficult terrain they navigated to get to the premises of the health facility.

High point of the event was appreciation song rendered by the patients.

The Clement Isong Foundation is a registered, Non-governmental & Non-profit Organization, which has been working since 2006 to make the world a happy place, with the slogan “Global Collaboration for Qualitative Empowerment”

TCIF is into: Community Health Empowerment scheme, Educational Strategies for quality life enhancement, Economic Research and policy development.

It was set up by the family of the Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Cross River State Government late Chief (Dr.) Clement Nyong Isong, CFR (1920-2000) to immortalize his name, virtues, and legacy.

He was a world-renown, frontline nationalist, expert economist, seasoned banker and an Elder statesman. Since its establishment in May, 2006, the foundation believes in powerful creative collaboration that is why it builds partnerships with NGOs, governments and individuals for fast and better solutions to help facilitate qualitative Empowerment of becoming an economic researh, social provider and socio-economic policy oriented foundation while keeping with the singular vision of preserving and perpetuating the numerous legacies of Chief Dr. Clement Isong.
