The African Church, Ikot Eyo fetes clergy on Natal Day.
The African Church, Ikot Eyo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area celebrated Ven. Ekere George on his birthday at the church auditorium in conformity with NCDC precautionary measures and CAN guidelines for reopening of churches.
Ven. George is the resident Pastor of The African Church, Ikot Eyo in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area since January 2020.
Thanking God for sustaining and beautifying his life, Ven. George equally appreciated the church hierarchy, members and other guests for making out time to celebrate his special day with him.
The Akwa Ibom born preacher went further to appreciate God for his benevolence in his life, his family and the church.
He prayed God for more rewarding years ahead and the grace to feed the flock to the glory of God that called him into the Ministry.
The physically elated clergy also seized the opportunity to educate the guests on the need to observe cardinal guidelines penciled down by NCDC and CAN for the prevention of widespread of COVID-19 in the society.
He asserted that the life of every human Worldover is precious to God, adding that the life of every Akwa Ibom person is important to Governor Udom Emmanuel, as such citizens must play their role by protecting themselves against the deadly coronavirus.
Ven. George called on church leaders to ensure their members comply strictly with the three cardinal rules of appropriate use of face masks, hand washing before gaining access into church auditorium and maintaining recommended physical distancing at all times.
The clergy remained hopeful that the world shall be made whole again and normalcy return to every facets of life.
He acknowledged the grace of God as the catalyst that propelled him to the echelon of his life as the lord’s servant through expansion of God’s work in his hands.
A Guest Preacher: Pastor Sunny Aaron Preached At The African Church, During The Birthday Celebration
On his part, the guest preacher at the occasion, Pastor Sunny Aaron of United Evangelical church (founded as Qua Iboe Church) Mbiaya Uruan, preached on the topic : Don’t be foolish and took his text from Psalms 124 vs 1 -8.
While paying tribute to the manifestation of Godswill in the life of the celebrant, He urged the congregation to imbibe the culture of thanksgiving and learn to number their days on earth.
Pastor Aaron went ahead to admonish Christians on adhering to the word of God, referencing God at all situations and rendering selfless stewardship to God the creator.
He encapsulated two silent basics for living a heavenly conscious life to include: humility and and total surrendering to the will of God as the path way to living a life pleasing unto God.
The birthday ceremony witnessed song renditions by the praise team of the church, prayer session for the nation, State, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Church and the celebrator.
High point of the celebration was the cutting of the birthday cake by the celebrant flanked by his wife and children alongside church presbytery and other guest preachers present at the occasion.
The ceremony also featured fund raising for the progress of God’s work at the church’s mission house.

Ven. Ekere George is a member of Akwa Ibom State Government COVID-19 Church monitoring team for Uyo Senatorial District, chaired by Hon. Eric Akpan, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.
He has been taking active part in the team’s exercise for the past 6 weeks of its outing.
