The Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Akon Eyakenyi yesterday paid a visit to her Constituency Office located at 106 Liverpool Road, Eket.
The Senator was conducted round the facility by Director General of Akwa Ibom South Constituency Office, Engr. Samuel Ekpeyong accompanied by the Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Dr. Charles Mbong, Director General of Friends of Akon Eyakenyi International, Elder Stanley Ating, Director Women Affairs of Friends of Akon Eyakenyi International, Mrs. Abigail Edohoeket, Organizing Secretary, Mr. Etienne Bob, and other staff of the Constituency Office.
Addressing the staff at the Conference Room, Senator Akon Eyakenyi congratulated them for their selection through different recommendations from key stakeholders across the entire Senatorial District, urging them to work as a team so as to achieve her mission for the Senatorial District which is to give them a voice at the National Assembly.
She seeks for cooperation from staff and advised them to give selfless services to her Constituents, warning against unfair treatment of constituents by any of the staff.
She noted that all the twelve (12) local government area that make up Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District should be given equal treatment as no LGA will be segregated.
The Senator also commended the leadership of the Constituency Office for their early conviction in Better Deal Project, describing them as very dependable allied who are willing to give everything in their possession to achieve the expected results.
Senator Akon Eyakenyi reiterated her commitment to her mission of giving Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District a voice at the National Assembly therefore set a standard in representation. According to her, “My mission is to give Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District a voice at the National Assembly.”
She maintained that within her first three months in office, she has not only contributed meaningfully at the floor of the Red Chamber of the National Assembly but has launched an empowerment programme/training in oil and gas sector for youth in Oron Federal Constituency, promising that Eket Federal Constituency will have its turn after the official opening of the Constituency Office by next week followed by Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency respectively.
She specially thanked the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for his leadership and support which had contributed to her victory at the poll, pledging her continuous support and that of her constituents to his administration.
In her vote of thanks, the Liaison Officer for Eket Federal Constituency, Mrs. Ime Anthony thanked Sen. Akon Eyakenyi for the privilege to serve, assuring her of total staff loyalty and commitment to service delivery. She prayed God to give her more wisdom and strength to deliver on her mandate and impact on her constituents positively.
