Christians in Akwa Ibom State have been charged to pray vehemently for the success of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s second term in office as plans are geared toward hosting a one day State crusade on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Uyo Township Stadium by 10 am, to further commemorate Governor’s victory at the polls.
The Chairman, Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly (ACA) and Founder, Destiny International Missions, Archbishop Cletus Bassey gave the charge while addressing representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and Fathers of Faith across the State in a prayer summit for the success of the upcoming one day State State Crusade.
Speaking on the significance of the crusade, Bishop Bassey said that the one day State crusade is to pray for the successful inauguration of Governor Udom Emmanuel on May 29, 2019 as well as celebrating his victory in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the State.
The Clergy further reasoned that the victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel is victory for all and therefore extended invitation to every citizen and their sojourners irrespective of political and religious affiliations.
He however reasoned that for entire state to actively participate in the forthcoming one day State crusade, members of the planning committee must create awareness and disseminate the message across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State.
Arch Bishop Bassey poured encumium on members of the organisation who stood their grounds during the elections that culminated in the recorded success of Governor Udom Emmanuel at the polls and described them as foot soldiers and catalysts in the re-emergence of Governor Emmanuel at the polls for a second term bid.
Speaking of ACA as a unifying Christian body, the Chairman emphasised that the organisation is a flagship organisation for all its members with no preference to an individual.
Also, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Wilson Iwaudofia and Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Matters, Comrade Aquilla Otobong Akpan, who are members of the Mobilisation Committee for the upcoming one day State Crusade, were in attendance at the prayer summit.
