Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Council has charged Village Youth Presidents in the area to be ambassadors of good governance in the various communities they preside.
The Council Chairman gave the charge during the official inauguration of Ikot Ntuen Nsit Village Youth President at the Village Council hall, last weekend.
Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan advised the newly sworn-in president to render a servant leader stewardship to his people throughout his tenure and avoid being a tyrant to his people.
He hinted that the success of his adminstration as the village President is embedded in working in partnership with the village council and the youths in the community.
The Chairman assured the President that the precedence his leadership shall set in the community will be the driving force to his growth in the socio-political phase.
Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan said the community is a unifying group of persons who share similar ideologies, norms, cultures and beliefs. He called on the new President to marry all sectors together in order to have a chaos free administration.
On his part, the Councillor representing Asang Ward 1 in Nsit Ibom Legislative Council, Hon. Mbetnse Akpan urged him be brave and courageous as a leader even in the phase of challenges in course of his leadership.
The Councillor pledged his support to the President to ensure he has a smooth, impactful and successful tenure in office.
Speaking also, Akparawa Prince Akpan, Chairman, Village Youth Council, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area congratulated the new Village President for his emergence and called on him to be fair to all parties in the course of his service to the community.
Prince Akpan encouraged him to create and maintain a cordial working relationship with other village youth President especially those within his territorial boundaries for a successful tenure.
Similarly, Akparawa Iya Iya, Nsit Ibom Youth Caucus Leader intimated the new President that his office isn’t a tool of war against constituted authorities in the community but an avenue for unifying the youths to speak in a formidable voice for the growth and development of the village.
Akparawa Iya admonished him to run an all exclusive leadership not leaving behind non indigenes dwelling in the community as they equally have their quota to contribute to the advancement of the village.
In his inaugural speech Mr. Uwem Usen, promised to serve the youths of Ikot Ntuen Nsit diligently, adding that he shall not be found wanting in delivering his services to the community.
Mr. Usen said his administration shall be transparent, all inclusive, purposeful and people oriented for the general good of the people.
He assured that during his tenure in office, the community shall witness tremendous development and a paradigm shift in its growth and developmental strides.
The president further said his administration shall not conflict with any interest but harness every sector together for the general good of the indigenes and other sojourners in the community.
Present during the inauguration ceremony were: Rt. Hon Eric Akpan, the Executive chairman of Nsit Ibom, Mr. Eno Udonsek, the secretary to Nsit Ibom local government council, Councilor Representing Asang ward 1, Hon. Mbetnse Akpan, Hon. Aniefiok Akpan- Dakkada Ambassadors coordinator, Nsit Ibom LGA.

Also, across section of village council/executives, women, youths and children witnessed the inaugural ceremony at the village council hall.
Nsit Ibom PDP Ward Leaders endorse Hon. Eric Akpan for Second term in office.
Six (6) out of Ten (10) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Political Ward Leaders in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area have endorsed Hon. Eric Akpan, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Council for Second Term in office.
They also presented a cheque of N1.5m to the Chairman as part of their contribution towards the purchase of his nomination form for the forthcoming PDP primaries across the 31 Local Government Areas in the State.
According to the spokesperson, Nsit Ibom Political Leaders Forum, Comrade Akamba Awah who is also the Political leader of Mbaiso Ward 2, their decision arose from the unbeatable scorecard Hon. Akpan presented to stakeholders of the area, few weeks ago.
“We are not endorsing Eric Akpan as a person, but we are endorsing his scorecard, stewardship, projects, transparency, accountability and selflessness in leadership”, he enumerated.
He extolled the leadership strides of Hon. Akpan within this period in office, saying the chairman is having a fingerprint in every sector in Nsit Ibom Local Government area which has culminated in existing peace and stability in the area through appointment and empowerment of over 50 youths in Nsit Ibom.
Describing Hon. Akpan as a pace setter in the committee of Local Government Chairmen in Nsit Ibom, Comrade Awah called on all sons and daughters of Nsit Ibom to rise in unison and support the second term bid of Hon. Akpan for consolidation on his laid down gains.
Nsit Ibom PDP Ward Leaders Give Financial Support to Hon. Akpan’s Second Term
On his part, the Chairman, Nsit Ibom Political Leaders Forum, Obong Francis Inyang on behalf of the Ward leaders, presented a cheque of N1.5m to the chairman as part of their support and contribution to his second term ambition.
Obong Inyang said Hon. Akpan is a rare breed of politician whose personal interests and satisfaction is secondary as he pays premium to the welfare and wellbeing of Nsit Ibom people above personal gains and gratification.
He commended his applausible efforts in making Nsit Ibom a peaceful and safe haven for investors as evident in the new Sports Academy and Immigrations Operational Base his administration has facilitated and brought to Nsit Ibom.
They offered prayers for the success of the chairman at the primaries and general polls and unanimously raised his hands, symbolizing the total support of Nsit Ibom political Leader for Hon. Akpan’s re-election into office.
In his response, Hon. Eric Akpan, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, appreciated the political leaders for throwing their weights of support behind his second term in ambition.
Hon. Akpan disclosed that he has been receiving endorsements from groups and persons of goodwill who have the interest of Nsit Ibom at heart and appreciated the political juggernauts and apex decision makers for appreciating the feat he has recorded so far at the council during his first term in office.
He promised doubling up efforts in transformational strides of Nsit Ibom with the aim of leaving indelible Marks at the end of his tenure in office in 2023.
Nsit Ibom PDP Ward leaders are the apex decision making in the electioneering process of the system.

Nsit Ibom Council Chairman, Hon. Eric Akpan Presents Scorecard to Journalists in the Area
Also, earlier on, Hon. Eric Akpan presented his account of stewardship to Members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, from Nsit Ibom extraction in his office, at the Council Headquarters, Afaha Offiong.
Hon. Akpan reeled out areas/sectors in which he has built his projects, programmes, and initiatives on assumption of office to include: infrastructural renaissance, agricultural development, sports development, human capital development, and complimenting the efforts of Governor Udom Emmanuel in his Free and Compulsory education policy thrust.
Other programmes are: facilitating an improved primary health care system in the area, poverty alleviation through presentation of grant to market women, facilitating job opportunities for merited youths in the area, attracting Immigrations operational base and sport academy to the area among other people oriented projects.
He said as indigenes of the area and information managers, he felt they have the right to know the progress of the area for as partners in the development and growth of Nsit Ibom and Akwa Ibom State
 The Chairman appreciated the role of the media in holding firm the fabrics of democracy in Nsit Ibom, the State, and in the nation and urged them in adhering to the canons of journalistic practices in the course of their duties and promised maintaining a close working partnership with the media community in the Area.
NUJ Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk Commends Hon. Akpan on Scorecard
Responding, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk described the meet as epochal, being the first time a sitting Council Chairman in Nist Ibom Local Government Area has deemed it fit to parley with Journalists from the extraction as well as presenting his account of stewardship to the press.
He lauded the milestones of Hon. Akpan in office and communicated the resolved of Nsit Ibom Journalists to champion the course that shall promote more rapid growth in the area adding that his achievements so far, is speaking volumes of greater strides in Nist Ibom in the years.
Other speakers who appraised the achievements of the Chairman, in their separate speeches were: Comrade Emmauel Silas, Comrade Sammy Charles, Comrade Aniekan Udofia, and Comrade Gift Okure, they all appreciated the Chairman for changing the face of Nsit Ibom Council within this period under leadership.
