Uyo and Nsit Atai Council Chairmen Imoh Okon and Emem Ibanga

Two suspended council Chairmen of Nsit Atai, Uyo are set to return to office this week.
The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Ad-hoc Committee which was constituted by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey to investigate the petitions leveled against the Council Chairmen of Nsit Atai and Uyo Local Council (s), Hon. Emem Ibanga and Hon. Imoh Okon respectively had completed its findings into all the issues raised.

The Committee which had one month to complete it’s investigation concluded the process last Friday as they met with the suspended Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Hon. Imoh Okon and Staff of the Council. The Committee is Chaired by Rt. Hon. Mark Esset.

d its assignment on the petitions against Hon. Emem Ibanga, the suspended Council boss

AKHA Adhoc Committee To Submit Report on Nsit Atai, Uyo Council Chairmen At Plenary

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Aniefiok Dennis who also serves as the Secretary in the ad-hoc committees told Readers247 that baring any unforeseen circumstances, the reports will be presented at plenary today.

” The ad-hoc committees have concluded their schedules in line with the directives of the Speaker and I can assure you that the reports will be submitted at plenary this week”, Rt. Hon. Aniefiok Dennis said.

The Committee which was mandated to complete it’s report had a month to carry out the set terms of references following the suspension of the Council Chairmen on May 29,2020 from Office.

The Committee could not meet the deadline for submission and the directive by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey that Committees submit their reports before the legislature embarks on recess has fast tracked the Completion of the exercise last Friday.

There are strong indications that the House will receive the reports today at plenary with likely recommendations for a recall of the suspended Council Chairmen.
