Governor Godwin Obaseki Fails To Submit His Controversial Higher School Certificate To Independent National Electoral commission for Publication
Although, the Governor Godwin Obaseki did not present his ‘controversial’ Higher School Certificate (HSC) that was one time generating heated arguments within and outside Edo State.
On his part, the candidate for All Progressive congress, APC, Pastor Ize-Iyamu possesses LLB from the University of Benin, Uniben, according to the INEC publication.
The publication of certificates of gubernatorial candidates including that of a sitting Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is a new development that may become the new normal henceforth in future political process in Edo State.
Recently, some politicians have been seen battling in the court on issues related to their school certificates.
Which is believed to be the motive behind INEC’s resolution to make public their certificates in order to curb the ongoing unnecessary questioning in the court.
According to online and media reports, the contest for the gubernatorial election in Edo State will be between the APC and the PDP as many quarters believe Governor Godwin Obaseki may clinch overwhelming sympathy votes at the poll.
With Governor Obaseki campaigning against his political godfather and predecessor, political pundits in Edo State perceived victimization from APC against Obaseki and will leave no stone unturned to endure his reelection to seat of power.
But with the recent composition of the APC candidate’s electioneering campaign team, quarters perceive political doom and end of political career for Obaseki and the new composition may thwart his ambition at the poll.
Obaseki’s administration in retrospect, within his two years in office, his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had publicly poured accolades of superlative performance on Governor Obaseki.
Oshiomhole described Obaseki’s performance as the best Edo State could have and prayed for nay sayers to receive a re-awakening consciousness to appreciate his selfless stewardship to the people of Edo State.
Governor Obaseki Set To Change Political Narrative Of Edo State
Edo 2020 guber race will be one of the toughest in the history of Edo politics as the state is set to witness a strong opponent from Peoples Democratic party in a state that was once flying a singular colour of All Progressive Congress.
Obaseki from all indications has put all arsenal in place to ensure he comes out victorious at the polls and power of incumbency is strongly to his advantage.
Although, many are of the opinion Edo State has always been an APC State, others believe Obaseki’s new found party has brought a new twist to Edo politics and a new political narrative is inevitable.
All things hopefully being equal, Obaseki shall be the first two term Governor to serve Edo State under two political umbrellas of All Progressive Congress and Peoples Democratic party, respectively.
