The creation of Akwa Ibom State in 1987 was the opening of a new chapter of the lost hope of liberation and leadership and re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term bid is the recent chapter of that long story through God.
This was the positon of the Director General, Divine Mandate Campaign Organisation, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga during the special thanksgiving Service and reception in honour of 2018 returning pilgrims at Destiny International Mission, last Sunday.
“…what happened on 9th of March 2019 when the people of Akwa Ibom State stood up and speak with one voice, that is the most recent chapter of that long story for the liberation and leadership of our people as a State through God.
“I want to bring to your attention; it is very easy for us to look at the small aspect of life that affect us and assume that is all, it is not. You may have won election in your unit but the man in Eastern Obolo or Essien Udim Local Government Areas may have also won his own. God has been kind to you and has also been kind to others, now lets look at it holistically, God has been kind to the people of Akwa Ibom State.
“The creation of Akwa Ibom State in 1987 was the opening chapter of that lost hope of liberation for freedom and leadership.Today the peole of Akwa Ibom State can beat their chest and say yes; we know what it is to have self determination. it would not have happened without God and you”. The DG lauded 2018 pilgrims for their support and commitment towards the victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel at the polls through their prayers to God and charged them for a sustained effort for smooth running of the State in the next four years by the Governor.
“It is only God that saw the State through during the elections. We cnnot forget it in a haste. Let me bring this to your attention, before we went into the elections, all we had was God. The night before election, the Governor prayed as he has never prayed before and God glorified himself through the victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
“I urged you, as Governor Udom Emmnauel goes into second term, divine mandate will be there to ensure we sustain this adminsitration, you will also be there because you are part of that divine mandate and I can assure you that Akwa Ibom is moving together as a people under God.
“That is why when we went into that elections, we heard stories, of federal might, people were boasting but the issue of federal might reminded us of the story of the red sea. It is the red sea that carried the children of God to freedom, it was the biggest of good over evil. It is that same red sea that took the people that were against them to doom and distruction.
“That is why at the time of the election you could hear people say we don’t want ‘A’, we don’t want ‘B’, we don’t want this electoral officer and the lists went on…. those with the Federal might changed the Police Commissioners every week but we stood with God and never changed God”. He appreciated!
