Elections: Families have re-united to chart a common course – Owoidoho Ekpoatai

Date:

Member representing Onna, Eket and Esit Eket Federal Constituency in the Federal House of representatives, Hon. (Mrs.)  Owoidoho Ekpoatai has described the just concluded State elections as the most credible and a reunion for old time friends and allies in Akwa Ibom State.
She made the assertion at Awah Ward 4, Unit 14 immediately after exercising her franchise at Ikot Mbong Onna Local Government Area.
She commended the large turned out of electorates and the high level of decorum exuded throughout the exercise, adding that, citizens have evolved from aloof attitudes toward voting exercise to an appreciable level of active involvement in selecting future leaders at various levels.
“What I have seen today during the gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections is an appreciable turned-out of people, people coming from far and near and I just said at my polling unit that I wish election was everyday so that people can come out.
“I have seen a lot of people i saw last 10 years ago coming home today to exercise their franchise, its quite commendable and above all, it has been very peaceful exercise. It is a reunion for my Unit in Ikot Mbong” she appraised.
At the polling unit, electorates of similar age bracket and other old friends formed clusters exchanging pleasantries and  reminiscing on old time memories under a peaceful atmosphere while awaiting completion of collation exercise and final announcement of unit results.
“Implementation of the use of Card reader Machine has instilled high level of discipline in Nigerians, reminding us there is dignity in patiently waiting on the queue for your turn”, adding that: “functionality of the card in my Unit was not in contest for today”. She commended.
