Leading his team to some of the project sites in the state, today, Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Commissioner Inyangeyen said, when supervising the ongoing Eket remodeling project that, at completion, the project will open up Eket for commerce.
The Commissioner dismissed rumour making the rounds that, there were some controversies sorrounded the payment of compensation and demolition of structures that were on the right of way in the Eket remodeling project, stressing that every structure demolished was duly paid for, as prior to demolition, occupants of buildings were given enough time to vacate their buildings.
Commissioner Inyangeyen, who said that the Post Office and other structures at the other side of the Eket remodeling project would be demonished next week in his next visit and appealed to the youths and people of Eket to support the government and cooperate with the contractors handling the project, to enhance timely completion of the project within the stipulated time framework.
At Ikpe Ikot Nkon – Arichukwu road, Mr. Ephraim Inyangeyen, expressed satisfaction on the level of work done on that road. The Commissioner, who took his time to inspect the quality of bridge constructed on the road and expressed optimism that, the project will be ready by the end of May or probably September unfailingly.
His team has also supervised the ongoing Osiok road project, which traverses Eket and Esit Eket local government areas. Commissioner Inyangeyen, stated that by next week, the exact number of roads to be commissioned before May 29 will be made public .
Speaking on behalf of the people of lkpe Ikot Nkon, Elder Sunday Ekpenyong Udofia, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for remembering the people of the area, saying that, for decades, they have been neglected by successive governments.
