Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Council has charged Village Youth Presidents in the area to be ambassadors of good governance in the various communities they preside.
The Council Chairman gave the charge during the official inauguration of Ikot Ntuen Nsit Village Youth President at the Village Council hall, last weekend.
Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan advised the newly sworn-in president to render a servant leader stewardship to his people throughout his tenure and avoid being a tyrant to his people.
He hinted that the success of his adminstration as the village President is embedded in working in partnership with the village council and the youths in the community.
The Chairman assured the President that the precedence his leadership shall set in the community will be the driving force to his growth in the socio-political phase.
Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan said the community is a unifying group of persons who share similar ideologies, norms, cultures and beliefs. He called on the new President to marry all sectors together in order to have a chaos free administration.
On his part, the Councillor representing Asang Ward 1 in Nsit Ibom Legislative Council, Hon. Mbetnse Akpan urged him be brave and courageous as a leader even in the phase of challenges in course of his leadership.
The Councillor pledged his support to the President to ensure he has a smooth, impactful and successful tenure in office.
Speaking also, Akparawa Prince Akpan, Chairman, Village Youth Council, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area congratulated the new Village President for his emergence and called on him to be fair to all parties in the course of his service to the community.
Prince Akpan encouraged him to create and maintain a cordial working relationship with other village youth President especially those within his territorial boundaries for a successful tenure.
Similarly, Akparawa Iya Iya, Nsit Ibom Youth Caucus Leader intimated the new President that his office isn’t a tool of war against constituted authorities in the community but an avenue for unifying the youths to speak in a formidable voice for the growth and development of the village.
Akparawa Iya admonished him to run an all exclusive leadership not leaving behind non indigenes dwelling in the community as they equally have their quota to contribute to the advancement of the village.
In his inaugural speech Mr. Uwem Usen, promised to serve the youths of Ikot Ntuen Nsit diligently, adding that he shall not be found wanting in delivering his services to the community.
Mr. Usen said his administration shall be transparent, all inclusive, purposeful and people oriented for the general good of the people.
He assured that during his tenure in office, the community shall witness tremendous development and a paradigm shift in its growth and developmental strides.
The president further said his administration shall not conflict with any interest but harness every sector together for the general good of the indigenes and other sojourners in the community.
Present during the inauguration ceremony were: Rt. Hon Eric Akpan, the Executive chairman of Nsit Ibom, Mr. Eno Udonsek, the secretary to Nsit Ibom local government council, Councilor Representing Asang ward 1, Hon. Mbetnse Akpan, Hon. Aniefiok Akpan- Dakkada Ambassadors coordinator, Nsit Ibom LGA.
Others were: Akparawa Iya Iya, Youth caucus leader, Nsit Ibom LGA, Akparawa Imeobong Effiong John, NYCN Nsit Ibom LGA, Akparawa Prince Akpan, chairman forum of village youth president, Nsit Ibom, Mr. Innocent Akpan, renowned business mogul and politician and Mr. Godwin Effiong Akpan, former youth president, Ikot Ntuen Nsit.
Also, across section of village council/executives, women, youths and children witnessed the inaugural ceremony at the village council hall.
A socio-political group, Eket Progressive Forum made up of top grassroot politicians and former political office holders have adopted the Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Frank Archibong as their sole candidate for chairman position in the coming local government election.
Eket Progressive Forum Adopts Hon. Frank Archibong
The group took the decision today at Ikot Ibiok in what could be described as mother of all events tagged “Ádoption and Declaration of Faith in Hon. Frank Archibong for Chairman of Eket Local Government Area 2020 and beyond.”
In his welcome speech, the President of the group, Mr. Etekamba Harry said that Eket Progressive Forum being an association of like-minded people bonded by unity of purpose, have implicit faith in the credentials and ability of Hon. Frank Archibong to steer the ship of Eket Local Government Area to an enviable height, hence their reason for adopting him for second term.
“We are here gathered to give honour and bestow greatness in the form of an adoption and declaration of faith and support for the man, the Most Preferred.
This is the man in whom we are well pleased. Today, Eket Progressive Forum is about to unveil the most Preferred, Hon. Frank Archibong for Chairman, Eket Local Government Area 2020 and beyond.
“This is the man with fine attributes.This is the man with sterling qualities. This is the man you cannot beat in Eket political space. This is the man who is an embodiment of perfection in local government administration.
“The man, the most Preferred, Hon. Frank Archibong, we doff our hats for you,” he submitted.
Speaking further, Mr. Harry said though the group is strictly male driven, the women folk will be incorporated to interface on sharing factual ideas.
He therefore urged all to join EPF to preach the good news of Hon. Archibong achievements which have earned him the adoption and support for another term in office.
The Chairman on the Occasion, Mr. Emman Sammy in his remarks said that Hon. Frank Archibong’s second term mandate is non-negotiable as a result of his outstanding achievements which are very commendable.
He noted that Frank has made Eket proud be emerging as the pioneer ALGON Chairman from Eket since the creation of the local government area.
He disclosed that Governor Udom Emmanuel has much confidence in Frank Archibong and relates well with him, hence the cordial relationship that is existing between him and the Governor. He charged Eket people to adopt the method of always celebrating and supporting their people who are good rather than run them down.
Mr. Sammy therefore advised other contestants for the position of Chairman to jettison their aspiration and wait until Frank complete his second term, warning that anything on the contrary will amount to waste of resources. He also thanked the leadership of EPF for adopting the chairman for second term, saying it is noble and commendable.
The Vice Chairman of Eket, Hon. Nsikan Sunday while commending Eket Progressive Forum for finding his boss fit to continue in office for a second tenure, describing him as a good man with good intention for Eket people.
“Frank is a good man that is why we have peace in Eket and people sleep peacefully in the night. We are happy and will continue to work with him till he succeed,’ said Nsikan.
He scored the chairman 100% in leadership, calling on all to rally round to give him all the support he needed to excel.
The leader of Eket Legislative Council, Hon. Kufre Imoh Ekpe said Frank has performed well, hence the smooth working relationship between him and the Councillors. He maintained that they will continue to give him the legislative support to succeed.
The Special Assistant to the governor on Research and Documentation, Mr. Essien Ndueso described Frank Archibong as having interpersonal relationship with Eket people by responding to their challenges at any given time. He added that Frank will continue to grow higher and higher, calling for maximum support for his second term.
A brother to the Chairman, Mr. Ifiok Archibong thanked Eket people for the massive support given to his brother, noting that if he wasn’t good, the people will not come out enmasse to support him again. He prayed for God to imbue him with more wisdom to lead Eket aright.
An Eket born businessman, Mr. Emmanuel Assam aka Imaco while commending the progenitors of Eket Progressive Forum for their noble cause, he therefore called all hands to be on deck to deliver Hon. Archibong in the coming local government election.

Responding, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Chief Akwaekong Idim who represented the chairman at the occasion thanked Eket Progressive Forum for the adoption, assuring that Frank will do beyond what you think if given another term. He disclosed that Frank is an asset to Eket local government area and is willing to move the LGA forward.
“For you to choose Frank, you want to move Eket forward. Frank will carry everybody along and if given another tenure, he will exceed his current achievements” Idim emphasized.
Highpoint of the event was the adoption of Hon. Frank Archibong for second term in a motion moved by the Legal Adviser of the group, Barr. Geoffrey and duly seconded by a former Councillor, Hon. Ephraim Nsima. Also, the Chairman, Hon. Frank Archibong, his vice, Hon. Nsikan Sunday and other invited guest were decorated with Eket Progressive Forum badge.
The event was attended by Councillors, Supervisors, political class, party faithful and youth.
