Following the overwhelming support and victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel and other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 general elections, the Divine Mandate Campaign organization has commenced a thank –you visit to royal fathers in the state.
The thank – you visit team which visited the Ntisong Ibibio III and Itai Afe Annang yesterday, commended the monarchs for their role during the last elections which according to them brought about the overwhelming victory.
In his speech, the Director General, Divine Mandate Campaign Organization, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga said the victory was made possible by God through the instrumentality of man.
The Divine Mandate Organisation pilot, Otuekong Nkanga said the traditional fathers played a major and commendable role in the success story adding that their prayers, directions and commands made much impact and resulted in the success.
He noted that the royal fathers were deeply involved, adopted and personalized the 2019 project which according to him, was Akwa Ibom project adding that the victory is also for Akwa Ibom and not for Udom or Ddivine Mandate Campagin Organisation.
The Divine Mandate Campaign Organisation DG said the thank you visit would have taken place much earlier but for some post elections logistics adding the Governor is satisfied with and greatly appreciates the royal fathers.
He lauded them for such level of commitment and promised that the government will continue to liaise with the traditional fathers in the drive to transform the state for the benefit of all.
In their separate responses, the monarchs pledged continuous support for the Governor throughout his second term adding that appreciation and recognition attracts more goodwill.
In his response, Ntisong Ibibio III, Obong (Dr.) Essien Ekidem commended the team for the visit saying Governor Udom’s first term performance deserved a second term.
He noted that Governor Udom is a true son of God and a man of goodwill who attracts overwhelming support of the people and urged him to keep up with his good works in the state.
Ntisong Ibibio III who advised the Governor to ensure that he surpassed the performances of his predecessors, prayed God’s blessings and wisdom on him to continuously lead the state aright.
On his part, Itai Afe Annang, Okuku Pius Effiong Eside noted that God himself appreciates thanksgiving as exemplified in the biblical analogy of the 10 leapers which only one returned to give thanks.
He emphasized that power rest on the people and not on an individual and commended the Annang people who, according to him are not greedy, stood by him to support a just course.
The Itai Afe Annang noted that Governor Udom Emmanuel is not just a son in-law in Annang but a very good one who cannot be abandoned by the Annangs.
He commended the governor for the achievements of the past four years and urged him to do more especially by evenly distributing development projects and appointments across the state.
While assuring that he will continue to pray for the success of Governor Udom, he lauded the team for the honour done him by the visit and appealed that the Ikpe Annang road to Ukana project joining two important markets, Ofiong Ikpe and Abo Annang markets be completed as soon as possible.
In a swift reaction, the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyan-Enyen contacted the contractor of the Ikpe Annang road project to do the needful and mobilize to site.
