Akwa Ibom State Government Reopens Schools September 12

Akwa Ibom State Government has announced September 12, 2022 as the due date for Primary and Secondary schools resumption for 2022/2023 academic year.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Education,  Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet made this known through a press release made available to the general public.
According the release, the due date for schools resumption is in line with the unified academic calendar in the State which is focus on ensuring both private and public nursery/primary and secondary schools across the 31 local government areas of the State are in synergy.
“The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education wishes to inform the general Public and all education stakeholders that the academic activities for the 2022 /2023 academic year will commence on the 12th of September, 2022.
“This is in line with the Unified academic calendar in the State which is aimed at ensuring that Private and Public Primary and Secondary Schools across the State are in synergy.

“On this note, Parents and Guardians are advised to make sure their children and wards return to school, while providing them with the required educational materials to make learning feasible as academic activities will begin in earnest.

“The Commissioner in the release advised parents, and guardians to ensure their children/wards return to school, as well as providing them with the necessary requirements for a successful academic year”.
Also, heads of Schools, and Principals are mandated to resume not less than three days earlier to the resumption date in order to put up modalities of operation with teachers and other staff for a successful school year.
“Government warned against lateness to school on the part of pupils/students and teachers, adding that the system shall not tolerate nor condone any form of lateness  as the new school session resumes.
“Heads of Schools are expected to resume at least 3 working days to resumption date, for a Pre-resumption meeting with their staff to further prepare for the success of the session, as directed by the State Government.

“Please note that as the new academic year begins, Government will not condone lateness on the part of Teachers or Students. Loitering in the Streets and around school premises will not be tolerated”.

Akwa Ibom State Government, through the Ministry of Education wishes pupils, students and teachers a successful acedemic session.
“The Ministry of Education and the Education Management Committee on behalf of Akwa Ibom State  Government wishes all pupils, students and teachers a successful academic session”, the press release say.
