All is now set for the presentation of the 2023 appropriation bill to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, as Akwa Ibom State Executive Council Approves 2023 Appropriation Bills.
This follows the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council’s approval of the Draft Estimate for the state’s 2023 Appropriation bill presented before it by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Linus Nkan.
The Governor in Council, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, gave the approval during an expanded Executive Council meeting at Government House, Uyo.
Briefing Government House Correspondents after the meeting, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Linus Nkan, said the approval was given after an extensive deliberation by members of the Executive Council.
Mr. Nkan affirmed the readiness of the State Executive Council to present the Draft Estimate to the State House of Assembly for ratification within the week.
With the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council’s approval and the readiness of the State Governor to present the budgetary Estimate to the State House of Assembly this week, it will be on record that Governor Udom Emmanuel shall be presenting year 2023 fiscal budget to House, one monthly earlier, as compared to previous years.
With the envisaged early presentation, it is believed that the House shall expedite action as usual, and passed the budget on time.
