The Speaker, Akwa Ibom Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey has sworn-in Hon. Barr. Esse Umoh of Peoples Democratic as member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in the State Parliament.
This is taking place now at the floor of the House in its plenary session.
Hon. (Barr.) Ese Umoh is sworn-in by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey as the Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency having being elected and announced winner at the just concluded Essien Udim State Constituency re-run as ordered by the Federal Court of Appeal.
It could be recalled that on Saturday January 25, 2020 a re-run election for Essien Udim State Constituency took place across the 9 affected Wards in the area and Barr. Esse Umoh of PDP won with a total number of 18, 999 votes while Hon. Nse Ntuen of APC had 7,108 votes.
The victory of Barr. Umoh at the at the re-run polls has gone a long way to affirm the prediction earlier made by Readers247 that : “The forthcoming supplementary election of Essien Udim State Constituency will reveal that Ese Umoh’s presence in the constituency’s race was not just a wake-up call to APC but the beginning of the end of an imposing long political career for Mr. Ntuen”.
With the swearing in of Barr. Umoh, Akwa Ibom State Parliament now has a complete composition of 26 members.
