Aged sixty-seven (67), the Late Dr. Isidore Akpan-Ebe was a renowned Environmental Consultant who made his mark in the public, academic and private sectors.
According to a release by the family and made available to our newsmen, the late Akpan-Ebe, between 1980 and 2000, worked in the Akwa Ibom State Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation where he rose to the position of a Director.
In 2006, Dr. Isidore Akpan-Ebe joined the University of Uyo as a teaching staff where he contributed his quota to the uplift of education. He published extensively in reputable journals both locally and internationally, co-authored books; and was involved in the development of the curriculum of Forestry and Natural Environmental Management for the Post graduate Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes of the Department. He served at the University of Uyo for twelve (12) years, before he voluntarily withdrew his services in April, 2018.
Thereafter, he concentrated on his Consulting Firm – Ronel Consult Limited, where he consulted for the Central Bank of Nigeria, Uyo Branch as its Total Facilities Manager between 2006 and 2012.
A good and dependable family man, Dr. Isidore Akpan-Ebe was married to Obonganwan (Hon.) Mrs. Roseline I. Akpan-Ebe, a retired Principal–General. The marriage was blessed with adorable children: Uforo, Ediomo, Mbuotidem, Amaete, Iboro & Helen.
His remains will be committed to mother earth on Wednesday, 4th September, 2019 at his country home Ikot Udu, Odoro Ikot in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State; after a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, Odoro Ikot, Essien Udim L.G.A.
The release, signed by his son, Uforo I. Akpan-Ebe, invites friends, associates and sympathizers to the burial ceremony.
