Nine (9) out of ten (10) Peoples Democratic Party PDP Ward Chairmen and statutory delegates in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Tuesday Unanimously endorsed Hon. Eric Akpan for Second Term ambition as the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Council.

The Chairman, Forum of Ward Chairmen, Mr. Unwam Bassey led Ward Chairmen and other statutory delegates of the party in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area to visit the Executive Chairman in his private residence in Uyo, and unambiguously took the decision.

Mr. Bassey said their decision was based on the fact that Hon. Eric Akpan has performed beyond his electioneering campaign promises in his first tenure in office and above all, has worked assiduously for the unity and progress of all stakeholders and growth of the party in Nsit Ibom.

He appreciated Hon. Akpan for embarking on life touching programmes, initiatives and projects that have positively re-positioned Nsit Ibom as a reference point in the committee of Local Government Areas of the State, as well as providing means of sustainable development to the people and Nsit Ibom in general.

According to him, they were impressed with the way the chairman was able to provide means of meaningful livelihood to over fifty (50) youths in the area, renovate Nsit Ibom sports Stadium and provided long lasting security measure for the Council, through the heralded  construction of peremiter fence among other developmental strides.

Bassey expressed optimism that more will be achieved for the area upon his election for another term, and assured him of his members willingness to vote for him during the forthcoming Party Primaries.

Stakeholder commends Nsit Ibom PDP Ward Chairmen for Standing By Hon. Eric Akpan

On his part, Hon. David Etuk, a strong political stakeholder and former SA to the then Governor Godswill Akpabio on Project Monitoring poured accolades on Hon. Akpan for the pace setting score card of stewardship he earlier presented to Nsit Ibom stakeholders.

Mr. Etuk said Hon. Akpan is the best choice for the people of Nsit Ibom, who has performed beyond his electioneering promises. He remained hopeful that the return of Hon. Akpan for a second term bid in office shall further change the fortunes of Nsit Ibom.

He called on the delegates to remain steadfast in their choice of Eric Akpan as the best bet for Nsit Ibom top job.

Mr. Etuk described the Chairman’s leadership style as being inclusive, people oriented and developmental in nature. He called on Nsit Ibom people to join hands with Hon. Akpan to further deepen democratic gains in the area till 2023.

He urge all and sundry to desist from politics of blackmail and pull him down syndrome for the sustainability of the existing peace in the area.

Hon. Eric Akpan pledged Consolidating on his Development Strides In His Second Term Bid

Responding, Hon. Eric Akpan, Executive Chairman, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area who expressed delight over the support he has received from the Party followers, stakeholders and entire people of Nsit Ibom since his assumption in office, said their cooperation has spurred him to do that which he has done.

Hon. Akpan who disclosed that he has been receiving general acceptability from lovers of development and growth of the area, appreciated them for endorsing him and supporting his ambition financially.

He said he will continue to uphold the confidence reposed in him by the PDP ward Chairmen and other sons and daughters of in the are by delivering dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people when voted back into office.

The Chairman promised revolutionising all sectors in Nsit Ibom in his second term in office, and appreciated the statutory delegates for believing in his developmental strides in the area, which according to him, has changed the political narrative of Nsit Ibom.

He charged the party officers in Nsit Ibom not to loose hope but work for the unity and progress of the party, assuring that their desires will come to be at the appropriate time.

Hon. Akpan commended stakeholders present at the endorsement meet for appreciating his leadership skills which has produced ripple in human capacity development and every sector in the area.

High point of the meeting was fund donation support presented to Hon. Akpan by the statutory delegates for the purchase of his Nomination Form, also, a prayer session for God’s protection for Hon. Eric Akpan, his household, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, and Akwa Ibom State was offered at the end of the meet.

The Nsit Ibom PDP Ward Chairmen and other statutory delegates present at the endorsement meet, cut across the 10 wards components of Asang and Mbiaso Courts Districts of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.
