As YPP holds thanksgiving service after campaign flag-off
The gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA), has declared that the 2023 elections will be between YPP and Akwa Ibom state government’s vault.
OBA made this remark at the Holy Ghost Ambassadors Ministry on Sunday 23rd October, 2022 during the thanksgiving service by the Young Progressives Party, however said YPP will win since it has the masses in its support.
He also reiterated his mission to liberated Akww Ibom people from the current quagmire has the backing of God.
“We came here to seek God’s face as we start this journey. The testimony of how far He has brought us is evidence that He is with us…We are definitely sure that God is taking us there, though we pass through tribulations. It is not about the wish of men, it is about the will of God. It is not by power or might but by the will of God”, he said.

OBA noted that the YPP candidates into various offices were the most credible in their former parties.
While thanking God, he also appreciated the YPP for allowing itself to be used by God to rescue Akwa Ibom people from mis-governance.
He thanked God for taking the party and the candidates so far and made a vow that his administration will not disappoint the party nor the people.
The General – Overseer of Holy Ghost Ambassadors, Apostle Nyeneime Andy who read from Psalm 126:1, said that the growth of the YPP was evidence that the mighty hands of God were with the party.
“It was like a dream when OBA became the official candidate of YPP. It was like a dream when a small YPP became a household name. And when we woke, it was no longer a dream but a reality…As we stand, it is no longer a dream. OBA is no longer a dream. AIG Amba is no longer a dream. YPP is no longer a dream but a reality”, he said.
“This building was to be demolished between seven days, but today we are using it to thank God. Devil struck many times but we came out stronger. We have every reason to thank him”, he added.
Apostle Andy whose sermon was titled “That same God”, said just as God delivered Daniel in the lions’ den, he will deliver OBA, AIG Asuquo Amba and other candidates of the YPP in next year’s elections.
“God found a king in the house of Jesse and sent Samuel to get him for the position. That same God is about to get a king from the YPP for the people of Akwa Ibom State. Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert is that David”, he said.
Apostle Andy told the gubernatorial hopeful that javelins will be thrown at him but none will touch him.
“That same God that made Obong Attah governor; that same God that made Chief Akpabio to be governor; that same God that made Mr. Udom governor; that same God will make OBA governor. It was on this altar that Udom became the governor, and it is on this altar that OBA will be governor”, the cleric declared.
Reacting, the chairman of the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council, Sir Emem Akpabio who thanked God for taking the party to an enviable hight, assured that the campaign council will work with God till the state is taken over by the party.
“There was a time there seemed there would be no structure, but God provided the greatest structure. The inspiration came from here, and we thank the chairman for allowing God to use him”, he said.
Sir Akpabio used that opportunity to assure Akwa Ibom people that OBA’s government will be the best the state would ever have.
While speaking, the national chairman, Comrade (Bishop) Emmanuel Amakiri said the first person he contacted when he was about to form the YPP was an Akwa Ibom person.
He thanked the Akwa Ibom people for being trusted, reliable and committed.
He said the forthcoming elections are between the people’s choice and the cabal’s choice, and urged the people to support the people’s choice for effective leadership.
In his vote of thanks, the Director – General of Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Council, Pastor Sunny Ibuot acknowledged that the emergence of Sen Bassey Albert as the YPP guber candidate was well planned by God, and thanked the leadership of the party at both national and state levels for working with God’s plans.
“We thank the church, pastors, the choristers, the congregations for believing and standing by the dream”, Pastor Ibuot acknowledged.
